My boyfriend loves these socks. They are not for "walking" in, because the gel is really thick. The gel is inside the entire area of the sock. They are not very wide at the opening but the large fits his size mens 11 with plenty of room to spare. He says they have significantly reduced the dryness in his feet.
These do exactly what you would expect in terms of locking in the lotion, but walking is dangerous and they will turn and slip and you may/will fall. No issue with very large 13 EEEE feet, getting them on and off. Lotion helps, wouldn't use these without it.
