I'm only giving this 3 stars because the curling iron is unable to grip small amounts of hair closer to the end of the barrel. I have very long hair, so this is a major disadvantage for me, since I have to grip the hair at the middle of the barrel, and then start winding it up. This means that the hair at the top of my head does not get much of a curl, because there is not enough Barrel left to heat it, and I start winding layers of hair on top of hair. This type of curling iron is probably fine for people with short hair, maybe from the shoulders up
