My first brush an its awesome, one thing I've learned its real animal hair I believe badger so its important to dry it very good after use or it will smell, that was on me for putting it up not knowing anything about shaving brushes, but It works great .

The product may have gone through revisions, maybe, because I haven't experienced those issues. My experience with this brush has been great. It whips up shaving soap fine (tried across Viking and non-Viking soaps), and applies copious lather quite well.
