Great Brush. I’ve owned it for 3 months now and so far it works great. I'm not sure what the $50 versions of these shaving brushes bring to the table, maybe they are more “Brushy” or last longer. I don’t know if I want a brush I’m using on my face around that long. It’s in a damp warm environment. Sounds like a bacteria breeding ground to me.
Bottom line is this thing makes and holds lather from my Proraso shaving soap (which is amazing BTW) perfectly!
I can’t speak as to whether this is genuine badger hair, synthetic hair, dog, cat, human or otherwise, but like so many other brushes that I own, tooth, toilet, nail they all do what they are supposed to do synthetic or or not. Save yourself $90 and buy it.

I was the type of person who would go and buy shaving cream every two weeks because my hair grows in so quick. For the price you pay it is a very good lather brush. I also paired it with the Sir Hare shaving soap and I couldn’t be happier.
