After using Lioele's automatic brow pencil for years, which while fantastic, cost almost twice as much as this brow mascara, I decided to try a different product that didn't cost as much and after trying a few, I finally came across this. This quickly became a winner for me. Even though I have dark hair, my brows are very sparse and almost invisible in photos, but this was extremely easy to apply, much quicker than brow pencils and was as dark as I'd hoped without looking too harsh. One pic shows the brow mascara on one brow and the other one without for comparison, the second pic is after my makeup is done.

This product works like mascara, so the right color just makes the brows look a little thicker, without a penciled-in appearance. My brows are now brown (natural color), red (hair color), and grey. Since my skin is quite fair, I chose Blonde brow mascara, and it is the perfect shade for having my brows show, but not look painted on. Update: I now use Glossier Brow Flick to fill in over a scar at the outside edge of one brow. Hair there is fine, sparse, and white, so I can’t use this Nyx product there without smearing it all over.
